How did you learn about the Palestine/Israeli conflict?
I kind of knew what was going on there because of the news headlines (Arab News, we’re not talking CNN here) but what got me to really research the situation and learn more was this article: An Israeli’s Call for Boycott of Israel

Why do you care about world events?
I have no answer for this question. Shouldn’t everyone care?

How did you first get interested in politics?
I’m Pakistani okay, it’s in our genes to be political or something.

Favourite music and why?
When it comes to hip-hop, Immortal Technique is the sickest lyricist ever, hands down. He’s raps about things that matter as opposed to the mainstream bullsh*t but at the same time he’s also an amazing rapper strictly from a rhymes point of view regardless of content. He’s well informed -read his posts here- and he actually physically tries to make a difference in contrast to rappers who just rap (raising awareness is important but you have to follow that up with action) -one of many examples would be the orphanage/school he helped build in Afghanistan. Other than that Rise Against is my all time favourite band. I haven’t heard a single song of theirs that I don’t love. Some of their more political songs are Hero Of War, Survivor Guilt, Blood-Red, White and Blue, State of the Union… Oh God *must not list 50 songs*
